BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their student-athletes of the month for the month of November. Cheyenne Sisenstein of the women’s wrestling team and Simen Vik of the men’s swimming team took home honors this month.
Sisenstein had a dominant month of November going 10-1 in her wrestling matches to help the Tornado to a 6-1 record in the month. Her best performance coming in the Missouri Valley Open where she went 5-0 in her matches, capped off by way of technical fall win at 12-1 against Jathiya Isaac-Thomas of Wayland Baptist to earn first place in the Open.
Vik had a stellar month of November starting it off by setting a school record time of 4:56.56 in the 500-yard freestyle at Mars Hill. He then continued his record-setting pace by breaking five other school records in the Fall Frenzy Invite and earning Conference Carolinas swimmer of the week honors as well. He started off the weekend by breaking his own record of the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.45. In the 400-yard medley relay, he and four other teammates set a school record by3.4 seconds with a time of 3:20.27. Vik set another school record on Saturday in the 400 Individual medley touching the wall at 4:01.55. Vik’s best day came on Sunday where he set three school records, one coming in the 1000 yard freestyle by 30 seconds. He then set the school record in the 1650 yard freestyle event by more than a one minute and then capped the weekend by setting the school record in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:54.67.
