Gilbert was masterful in her season debut, pitching a shutout and striking out seven over five innings in a win over Davis & Elkins. She only allowed three hits in the Tornado victory. As impressive as Gilbert was in the circle, she was more impressive at the plate against Davis & Elkins. She ripped two home runs in the doubleheader and drove in four. She laced a three-run home run in game one and added another hit in the contest. In game two she gave King a 2-0 lead with a solo home run.​
