BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start of the fall season, the King University baseball team attended Holston View Elementary School's Accelerated Reading pep rally. While there, the team helped inspire the Holston View students to reach their goals.
"It was great to give back to the kids and our community," head coach Blaine Brown said. "Seeing the excitement on their faces and enthusiasm towards reaching their accelerated reading goals made us enjoy it that much more!"
While there, the baseball team members shared memories of their favorite books and what the books meant to them. The King student-athletes also talked about the importance of reading and how it has affected them and their academic careers.
"Holston View students and staff would like to thank the King University baseball team for its support of our students in the AR kick off this past week," Holston View Principal Kristie Coleman said. "The team was energetic and inspiring to our students; individual players were exceptional in the classrooms. [King baseball] is a first class team as modeled by their leadership."
