Tornado have eight selected academic all-conference

Academic All-Conference Carolinas

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start of the Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship, the league announced their academic all-conference honorees. The King University baseball team had eight members honored by the league.

The Tornado were led by 4.0 GPAs from Trader Flora and Nick Carroll. Ashton King owns a 3.74 GPA and Preston Worrell has a 3.63 GPA. Colt Fowler has a GPA of 3.57 and Braden Rassi owns a 3.52 GPA. George Helbig and Braden White round out the group with GPAs of 3.35 and 3.30.

On the field, Helbig led the pitching staff with a 5-2 record and 3.80 ERA in 71 innings pitched. King played both ways for the Tornado, owning a 6.71 ERA and .279 batting average. Flora posted a batting average of .234 with four home runs in 28 games while Carroll saw action in 11 games and hit .250 with a home run.

Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.
