Armstrong, Rimmer highlight tough weekend for King

MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University cycling team faced some adversity in their second cyclo-cross race of the season over the weekend. Three riders faced mechanical issues, but Kaysee Armstrong won the women's category A race, and Cory Rimmer finished third in the men's category A race to highlight the weekend.

In the women's A race at Mars Hill, Armstrong came away with her first win of the cylco-cross season while Alyssa Walsh finished 12th for the Tornado. Rimmer led the Tornado men's A group of five riders, finishing with a third place finish.

Taylor White had the next best finish for the Tornado, taking 14th in the men's B race. The trio of Blake Adams, Reuben Dupre and William Mehta all had mechanical issues for King. Dupre came in with a 23rd place finished while Adams finished 26th and Mehta didn't finished. Alex Jensen rounded out the group for King, finishing 24th in the men's A race.

King will be in action again on Saturday when they host their first race of the year on campus.
