Tornado take third at USA Cycling Cyclo-Cross nationals

AUSTIN, Texas – The King University cycling team had nearly a month off following the SECCC championships, and the Tornado didn't show any rust this weekend at the USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclo-Cross Championships. King came in with a third place finish with the team relay taking second and Kaysee Armstrong and Cory Rimmer each taking fifth.

On the men's side, Rimmer paced six King riders with a fifth place finish. Blake Adams and William Guillen followed finishes 26th and 29th, respectively. Alex Jensen came in next at 32nd and Reuben Dupre and William Mehta placed 36th and 38th, respectively.

Armstrong's fifth place finish led King, and Jennifer Caicedo took 26th. Alyssa Walsh rounded out the Tornado women with a 30th place finish. On Friday, the Tornado took second in the team relay competition, and the Tornado finished third overall on the weekend, marking their best finish.

King opens the road season on February 7 at the University of Florida race.
