King posts six top 10 finishes at Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The King University cycling team returned to action over the weekend at the Lindsey Wilson mountain bike race and the Tornado came away with six top 10 finishes. Matthew Owen led the way with a pair of top five finishes for the Tornado.


  • Owen's fourth place finishes came in the men's category A cross country and the short track races, leading the Tornado.
  • Also in the men's A cross country race, Fausto Crapiz finished 12th while Alan Edwards to fourth in men's B cross country race.
  • Sydney Wenger won the women's category A cross country race, and Abby Hobbs finished fifth.
  • In in the men's category A race, Eric Hubbs finished 14th and Jameson Simms took 18th.
  • Taylor White took seventh in the men's category C race.
  • In the short track race, Kate Dietrich finished 10th in the women's category A race.
  • Following Owen in the men's category A short track race was Crapiz finishing eighth and Simms taking 12th.
  • In the women's category A dual slalom race, Hobbs led the way with a seventh place finish while Wenger followed, taking 12th and Dietrich finished 16th.
  • Owen finished 13th in the men's category A race while four Tornado competed in the category B race.
  • Simms led the way with a 13th place finished with Crapiz following in 15th, Cope taking 17th and White finishing 19th.


  • King returns to action on Saturday and Sunday when they host the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) Championships. They racing will take place at Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol, Va.
