King bass fishing finishes strong at National Qualifier

HARTWELL, Ga. – The King University bass fishing team put together a great performance at this year's FLW Collegiate National Qualifier.  With 216 teams in the field, Lake Ozark was filled with collegiate programs from all around the country.  The results show that catching big fish consistently proved to be difficult for many teams, with a winning weight of only 13lbs.  The Tornado was led by Jacob Lovell and Dillon Bryant, pulling in 8lbs 10oz with four fish and finishing 70th overall.

"The weights were stacked so close," said head coach Jason Moorman. "With one more keeper the duo would have had a serious chance at a National Tournament. They lost a really good one early that would have put them in contention for top 10. Only three pounds separated the duo from reaching that mark and giving King a spot in the 2019 FLW Collegiate National Championship."

King University had three teams compete this year with Landon Lawson and Nicholas Gilbert also putting together a strong finish. They managed 8lbs 5oz and reached their limit of 5 fish, finishing 82nd.  Oakley Powers and Logan Dillow would also catch their limit and bring in 6lbs 9oz for the Tornado.

The Tornado go back to work in the spring for the beginning of the 2020 Collegiate FLW Season. Stay posted as those dates will be available soon.
