Bainbridge, Ga. - The King University bass fishing team traveled south this weekend to compete in the FLW college series event at Lake Seminole. Landon Lawson/Donavan Carson finished 38th with four fish for 7 pounds 3 ounces, and Dillon Bryant/Jacob Lovell finished 42nd with two fish for 6 pounds 8 ounces. The Lawson/Donavan duo missed national qualification by a mere three pounds.
There were 140 teams from all across the south scowering the lake for big fish this weekend and many of them were struggling in the days before the tournament. "The guys did a good job considering how tough practice had been," says Head Coach Jason Moorman. And even in lieu of the close qualification, he remains immensely confident in his team. "There are several opportunities ahead, these guys are hungry and will get it done." In less than two weeks the bass team will travel to Smith Lake in Cullman, Alabama to compete in the Carhartt Bassmaster College event. In April they will travel to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia on April 17th.
