King shoots onto NCAA DII Men's Basketball Stat Report

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College held onto seven Top-50 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Stat Rankings, the organization announced, with four in the team along with three individual rankings. Two of the individual rankings made the Top-10 of their respective categories.

Mark Dockery (Nickelsville, Va.) ranked second nationally in three-point field goals per game with 4.1. He was 11th in the first NCAA Division II report on Dec. 12. He also ranked 31st in three-point field goal percentage at 44.2. Dockery's percentage went down slightly from the last report, but climbed eight spots. He led King in the scoring category with 18.3 points per game which was No. 70.

Jason Seymore (Powell, Tenn.) used a 69.8 field-goal percentage to land at No. 7 in the newest report.

The Tornado averaged 10.1 three-point field goals per game to rank No. 5. The team was No. 26 in three-point field goal percentage at 39.7. King's 17.1 assists per game was good for No. 33. The final Top-50 ranking for the team was the assist-turnover ratio of 1.18, which put the team at No. 39.

King also added four more team rankings in the Top-100, led by the scoring offense of 79.5 points per game at No. 73. The Tornado's field-goal percentage of 47.2 ranked No. 80. An 8.3 steals per game mark came in at No. 86 while a 1.7 turnover margin was No. 87.

Clarence Smith (Nashville, Tenn.) and his 53.4 field-goal percentage held the No. 84 spot while Brian Hewitt (Lexington, Ky.) was No. 86 in assist-turnover ratio, at 1.85 to give King six individual rankings in the Top-100.

King, at 6-9 on the season, will travel to Salem International (W.Va.) University for a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
