King still ranked eighth in NCAA Regional Rankings

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the second of three installments, the King University men's basketball held their NCAA Regional Ranking of eighth. The Tornado are one of three Conference Carolinas teams in the rankings for the second straight week.

Lincoln Memorial University is ranked atop the poll with a 23-1 record while Queens University is second at 25-1. Lees-McRae College University is the highest ranked Conference Carolinas time at seventh with the Tornado ranked eighth. The University of Mount Olive is the final Conference Carolinas team, coming in at ninth.

The Tornado are 17-9 overall and 12-4 in Conference Carolinas play. With a win tonight, King will be tied atop the league standings with Lees-McRae College. The two teams square off on Friday night in Banner Elk, N.C.

King takes on Emmanuel College on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center Complex before traveling to Lees-McRae on Friday.

The Conference Carolinas Tournament starts on Tuesday, and the Tornado will host a quarterfinal at 7:00 p.m. The semifinals and finals will take place on March 3-4 at the highest remaining seed.

The final NCAA Regional rankings will come out on Wednesday, February 28. The NCAA Tournament field will be selected on Sunday, March 4. The regional ranking will help select the top eight teams to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
