BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the final NCAA Regional Rankings of the year, the King University men's basketball team moved up to seventh. The Tornado finished the regular season 19-9 and won the Conference Carolinas regular season title for the second time in the last three years.
Lincoln Memorial University remains in the top spot while Queens University stays in the second spot. The Tornado are the highest ranked Conference Carolinas team, followed by Lees-McRae College who is ranked eighth. Barton College is also ranked, coming in 10th.
King defeated Lees-McRae in the final regular season game, winning the conference title with a 14-4 league mark.
King will now await selection Sunday as the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship field is announced at 10:30 p.m. Following the three automatic bids from Conference Carolinas, the South Atlantic Conference and the Peach Belt Conference, the next five teams will be selected from the regional rankings.
