Floyd selected D2CCA All-Southeast Region

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University men's basketball player Jordan Floyd can add another award to his mantle following his spectacular season. The junior was selected D2CCA first team All-Southeast Region, when the organization announced their awards on Monday.

In Floyd's second season on campus, he led Conference Carolinas in scoring averaging 21.7 points per game, a mark that ranks 31st in all of NCAA Division II. The Stone Mountain, Ga., native scored at least 30 points in seven games this season while scoring at least 20 points in 15 games. He finished the season strong, scoring at least 20 points in nine of King's last 11 games.

The junior posted a career-high 36 points against Lees-McRae College on February 23 in a Tornado win that gave King the regular season conference championship. In addition to Floyd's 21.7 points per game, he also averaged 2.0 rebounds per game and 2.3 assists per game while also holding the conference's second best free throw percentage at 87.1 percent. Floyd closed his season with a 28-point effort as the Tornado fell to top-ranked Lincoln Memorial University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

At the conclusion of the regular season, Floyd was unanimously selected Conference Carolinas Player of Year and first team All-Conference Carolinas. That was the first time in the last five years a player has unanimously been selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.

He becomes the first Tornado to earn D2CCA All-Region honors since Logan Lyle was selected second team All-Region in 2014-15, and is the first Tornado selected first team All-Region. The last time King had a player selected All-Region was in 2015-16 when C.J. Good garnered NABC second team All-Region honors.

Floyd will now be eligible for D2CCA All-America honors which will be announced on March 19.
