Floyd's big week lands another CC Player of the Week award

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Jordan Floyd had another spectacular week for the King University men's basketball team, leading the Tornado to a pair of Conference Carolinas wins. Floyd shot better than 50 percent and averaged 43.0 points per game as he was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for the sixth time.

The nation's leading scorer averaged 43.0 points per game, shot 53.4 percent from the floor and 47.6 percent from long range last week. He scored 43 points in King's double-overtime win at Erskine College on Wednesday before scoring 43 points again in a come-from-behind win at the University of Mount Olive on Saturday. In the win over Mount Olive, he scored the final 11 points on a 15-0 run that gave King a 90-80 with 2:31 remaining. Floyd also snared nine rebounds at Mount Olive, setting a career-high.

The Stone Mountain, Ga., native now has six games with at least 40 points and has scored exactly 43 points, the King school record, four times this season. Floyd also set the school record for points in a season on Saturday as he now has 718 points this season, passing Mark Dockery who scored 684 points in 2010-11. He is now fifth on the all-time scoring list with 1,662 career points.

Floyd was also selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on November 11 and 25, December 16, and January 6 and 27.

The Conference Carolinas-leading Tornado travel to take on second place Emmanuel College on Wednesday night. Tipoff from Franklin Springs, Ga. is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
