Nathan Meeuwenberg

Meeuwenberg joined the Tornado staff prior to the 2019 season and led the Tornado women's cross country team to a Conference Carolinas title in his first season en route to taking home Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year honors.

2020-21: In what was an odd year as the Conference Carolinas Championship was run at the end of January due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tornado finished runner-up. Meg Davis earned first team all-conference honors while Katy Neubert and Destiny Haller garnered second team recognition.

2019: The Tornado won their fourth Conference Carolinas title and had three runners garner all-conference honors. Kirstin Barton earned all-region and first team all-conference honors while Kaitlin Rivera earned second team all-conference recognition and Katy Neubert garnered third team all-conference accolades. The Tornado finished 12th at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships.

2020-21: In what was an odd year as the Conference Carolinas Championship was run at the end of January due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tornado finished runner-up. Jordan Keith led the way, earning first team all-conference honors. Kade McDonald garnered second team all-conference honors while Josh Booher, Jesus Pacheco and Jake Allison all earned third team distinction.

2019: The Tornado finished fifth at the Conference Carolinas Championships and were led by Kyle Hart who finished 14th to earn third team All-Conference Carolinas honors. The Tornado then finished 19th at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships.

2020-21: Kolin Miller earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the hammer throw during the outdoor season. During the outdoor season he earned second team all-conference honors in the hammer throw and third team honors in the shot put while Blaine Metcalf earned third team recognition in the 3000 meter steeplechase. In the indoor season, Miller earned third team all-conference honors in the weight throw while Reed Samuel garnered second team honors in the long jump.

2019-20: During the indoor season, the Tornado finished ninth at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships. The outdoor season was canceled due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.The four seniors were selected All-Conference Carolinas

2020-21: Katy Neubert won the 800 meter dash at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships with Meg Davis taking second for the second straight year. At the outdoor championships, Whitney Christian finished third in the 400 meter hurdles to earn all-conference honors.

The Tornado finished 11th at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships. The outdoor season was canceled due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Prior to King

Meeuwenberg joined the Science Hill programs in the spring of 2016, coaching one state champion in his first year and improving the Hilltoppers’ finish from 15th to 10th at the state championships. The next year, Meeuwenberg coached an individual to a school record mile time as she posted the second fastest time in the country.

Meeuwenberg has also been a student pastor since 2015 in Johnson City. In that time at Redeemer Community Church, he has organized many trips for students to connect. He also served as a mentor, helping students launch their careers in their respective fields.

Personal

He graduated from Milligan College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics. Meeuwenberg was a captain of the cross country and track & field teams where he owns a top 10 8k time of 24:52 and was a four-time qualifier for the NAIA National Championships.

Meeuwenberg resides in Johnson City with his wife Evan and daughter Sylva.
