King releases 2011 Spring Men's Golf schedule

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King College men's golf schedule for the 2011 spring campaign has been announced by head coach Brian Kamm.

First for the Tornado team will be the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate in Panama City Beach, Fla., Feb. 7-8. Two weeks later King travels to the St. Andrews Spring Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C. March starts for King at the Rendleman Invitational in Salisbury, N.C. on the 7th and 8th. Next will be the Tusculum Invitational in nearby Greeneville, Tenn., March 12-13. The last regular season event will be March 28-29 at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial in Charlotte, N.C.

The Tornado will use the five events to try to qualify for the 2011 NCAA Division II Southeast Region to be contested May 2-4 in Deland, Fla. King will have to try to earn a spot as an at-large for the 10-team event in the program's first NCAA Division II season.

King played in four fall events with the best team finishing coming in the season opener, a third-place performance, at the Falcon Cup. In the next three events King was fourth or shared fourth.
