Hobday leads King in first round of Kiawah Island Invite

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The King University men's golf team started their 2015-16 season at the Kiawah Island Invitational where they shot an opening round of 302. Sam Hobday led the Tornado with a round of two-under, landing him in a tie for fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After day one, King is in 11th of 18 teams with a stroke total of 302. USC Aiken leads the tournament with total of 284.
  • Hobday started his senior year on a high note, carding a two-under 70 in the first round.
  • The player to come in next for King was Leennawat Numpituckchaikul who is in a tie for 19th after posting a one-over 73.
  • In his first collegiate round, Arthitayapong Sripatrprasite posted a round of 78.
  • Kesley March carded an 81 in his first collegiate round.
  • Another freshman, Cole Peevy posted an 85 in his first round in the Scarlet and Navy.
