BRISTOL, Tenn. – Robert Wilkinson of the King University men's golf team was selected a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar when the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the awards today. He was one of a record number Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars this year with 126 in Division II.
Wilkinson carries a 3.86 GPA through his junior year at King. This season he was second on the team with a stroke average of 74.45 while posting a pair of top 10 finishes, including one in the top five. He matched his low career round of 67 in the second round of the King University Invitational where he finished third.
He is the first Tornado to be a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar since Ross Maietta and John Scott earned the distinction in 2015.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
