BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following his spectacular start to the season, Leo Rigamonti of the King University men's golf team earned the Conference Carolinas Biweekly Men's Golfer Award. Rigamonti posted three top five finishes, scoring under par in all seven rounds.
The Eupilio, Italy native now has six career top 10 finishes and four in the top five. All seven of his rounds this season have been under par, including a round of six-under, 66 in the opening round of the North Georgia Fall Invitational. He finished the UNG invite with a three-round total of 12-under, 204. That mark is the lowest 54-hole score for the Tornado since they became NCAA Division II members in 2011-12, topping the previous low of 212.
He recorded his first career win at the King University Invitational, shooting three-under, 137 in the tournament. Rigamonti started the season with a fifth place finish at the Mars Hill Invitational, shooting 142. Prior to this season, Rigamonti's career-low round was 69, he has carded three rounds lower than that already this season.
This is the first time Rigamonti has earned the Conference Carolinas Biweekly Men's Golfer Award.
