Masters added to NCCAA/NSCAA All-American list

GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Richard Masters was selected as an NCCAA/NSCAA Men's Soccer Division I Honorable Mention All-American, the organization announced.

Masters, a senior goalkeeper from Kent England, had a 1.15 goals against average which ranked 53rd in NCAA Division II. Masters ranked 11th nationally in the NCCAA's last stat report released in November before postseason play started. He posted a .829 save percentage and recorded 4.53 saves per contest. Masters was a part of a Tornado defense that in 19 matches, opponents scored one or no goals 13 times. Masters also scored a goal and posted an assist as well.

He was a NCCAA Mid-East All-Region selection earlier in the month.

In all 52 student-athletes were honored with just 13 on the first and 13 more on the second team, leaving 26 honorable mentions. The first and second teams had just one goal keeper apiece on the squads. The rest of the team had four forwards, four midfielders and four defenders.

King finished the season after a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat in the NCCAA Mid-East Region semifinal to Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Nov. 19. The Tornado went 6-12-1 in the 2010 campaign.
