Tornado overtaken in final moments at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. - King College suffered a 1-0 defeat in men's soccer play Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) University after the lone goal came in the final moments.

King, now at 0-3-1, has played in three straight one-goal contests. The last time the Tornado had such a streak was in October 2008 when the squad went 1-2 during that stretch of one-goal decisions.

The only score was by Nicky Matthews with 3:15 left in regulation. Lenoir-Rhyne had a penalty kick stopped by the Tornado's Patrick Milfield (Dallas, Texas).

King only had three shots in the contest while Lenoir-Rhyne, with a 3-1 record, had 19.

The Tornado travels to Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College for a 7 p.m. meeting Monday.
