BRISTOL, Tenn. – Leading into the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the league announced their soccer academic all-conference honorees. The King University men's soccer team had seven players recognized.
King's leading scorer, Carlos Saavedra earned academic all-conference for the second straight year with a GPA of 3.60. He is tied for the team lead with five goals and has added two assists. Ben Harris also earns recognition for the second time, carrying a GPA of 3.59. Sam Mburu was the final Tornado to earn recognition for the second time as he carries a 3.98 GPA. He has scored one goal for the Tornado this season.
Tornado that earned academic all-conference for the first time were Jairo Ruiz Caram, Gabriel Rodrigues, Chance Arnold and L.A. Anderson. Ruiz Caram owns a 3.42 GPA and leads the Tornado with three assists to go along with one goal. Rodrigues also has one goal on the season and carries a 3.88 GPA. Arnold carries a 3.89 GPA and has appeared in two games while Anderson has made four starts in five appearances while carrying a 3.25 GPA.
Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.
