Tornado fall at UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, Tenn. – In a tough non-conference duel match, the King University men's tennis team traveled to UNC Asheville. The Tornado fell to the Bulldogs 7-0.

With doubles being played as one point, UNC Asheville (10-9) took the point after sweeping all three matches. The Bulldogs won 8-0 and No. 3 doubles, and 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. The King (10-7) duo of Patrick Jones and Leo Brigato fell 8-4 at No. 2 doubles to Alex Croker and Brett Landau.

In singles play, Jones dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Ryan Matthews at No. 4 singles. The Bulldogs took all five other singles matches to take the victory 7-0.

King returns home to face Conference Carolinas opponents Queens University and Belmont Abbey College this weekend. The Tornado face Queens on Saturday and Belmont Abbey on Sunday. Both dual matches are scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
