  • Ilina announces signing class

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University head tennis coach Mariia Ilina announced the signing of three student-athletes that will help the Tornado in the upcoming season. Lennard Neumann, Emily Smith and Charles Jabaley will all join the Tornado this fall ready for the season to start.
  • Tornado earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced their academic awards for the 2015-16 season, and the King University women's tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team and two individuals were selected Scholar-Athletes. On the men's side, five Tornado were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
  • Poswiat selected CoSIDA Academic All-American

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time in his career, King University men's tennis player Moritz Poswiat was selected CoSIDA Academic All-America. Poswiat was selected to the second team, and he became the second men's tennis player to earn the distinction in the At-Large category when the honorees were announced on Wednesday.
  • Poswiat, Swallow selected Conference Carolinas Scholar Athletes

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced their spring Scholar Athletes of the year for the spring sports on Wednesday and two Tornado were selected. Moritz Poswiat was the league’s selection for men’s tennis and Elizabeth Swallow earns her second straight Conference Carolinas Scholar Athlete of the Year honors in women’s golf.
  • Tornado earn second straight Conference Carolinas Sportsmanship award

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following one of their most successful seasons in recent memory, the King University tennis team earned their second straight Conference Carolinas Sportsmanship award. The Tornado finished fourth in the Conference Carolinas standings with a league record of 7-3.
  • Poswiat selected CoSIDA Academic All-District

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time in his career, King University men's tennis player Moritz Poswiat was selected CoSIDA Academic All-District. He becomes the second men's tennis player to earn the distinction in the At-Large category when the honorees were announced on Thursday.
  • Limestone tops King In conference tournament

    SUMTER, S.C. – The King University men’s tennis team opened play at the Conference Carolinas Tournament as the fourth seed as they were matched up with fifth seed Limestone College. King took a doubles point, but the Saints took the first three singles matches to take the dual 5-1.
  • Tornado trio selected All-Conference Carolinas

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the league announced their All-Conference Carolinas award winners at a banquet on Thursday night, and three Tornado were recognized. Moritz Poswiat and Luis Delgado both earned first team recognition while Lenny Keswani garnered third team honors for the Tornado.
  • King closes regular season with win at NGU

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University men’s tennis team closed the regular season with a road Conference Carolinas victory. The Tornado took all three doubles points from North Greenville University and closed out the 7-2 victory with four wins in singles play.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s tennis team closed their home schedule on Sunday with a nonconference dual against Carson-Newman University. The Tornado grabbed the lead in doubles play and didn’t look back, sweeping singles play for the 8-1 victory.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The King University men’s tennis team squared off with another one of the top teams in Conference Carolinas on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Pfeiffer University. The Falcons took control of the match early, taking the 8-1 win.

    BELMONT, N.C. – The King University men's tennis team swept the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in a Conference Carolinas dual Saturday afternoon. The Tornado blew past the Belmont Abbey not allowing the Crusaders a set in the match, tallying their fifth league victory for the season.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s tennis team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday afternoon when they host 22nd-ranked University of North Georgia. The Nighthawks gained the advantage in doubles play, and didn’t look back, taking the dual 9-0.

  • Bulldogs sneak past Tornado

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Bulldogs of Barton College slipped past the King University men’s tennis team in a tight Conference Carolinas match up. After the Bulldogs edged the Tornado in final two doubles matches in tiebreak fashion the Tornado were unable to comeback from the deficit falling 5-4.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s tennis team squared off with another unbeaten team in Conference Carolinas play, the University of Mount Olive. The match was tight throughout, but the Trojans took a narrow 5-4 victory, handing King their first league loss of the year.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The King University men’s tennis team blew past Lees-McRae College 9-0 in a Conference Carolinas match on Saturday afternoon in Banner Elk. King was able to post straight set victories in all but on match in the sweep. The Tornado eased through the match to post their fourth league victory to remain undefeated in conference play.

    YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – On Sunday, the King University men’s tennis team returned to action with a nonconference dual at Young Harris College. The 41st-ranked Mountain Lions took control of the match with wins in all three doubles matches. King earned a win in singles play, but Young Harris took four wins in singles play to take the match 7-1.
  • Tornado softball and tennis reschedule Saturday's contests

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – Due to impending weather on Saturday a few King University schedules have been changed. The home softball doubleheader against Limestone College has been postponed and rescheduled for April 15 at 2:00 p.m., and the men’s and women’s tennis duals at North Greenville University scheduled for Saturday have been rescheduled for April 20 at 2:00 p.m. in Tigerville, S.C.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time this season, the King University tennis teams swept the Conference Carolinas weekly awards following a pair of great weeks during spring break. On the women’s side, Katya Cerny takes home honors after going 3-1 in both singles and doubles a week ago, and Moritz Poswiat took home recognition on the men’s side, going undefeated on the week.

    HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The King University men’s tennis team closed their spring break trip with a pair of wins over Roosevelt University and Saint Joseph’s College on Tuesday. The Tornado started the day with an 8-1 win over Roosevelt before topping Saint Joseph’s 6-1 later in the day.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team was edged by #33 Southern Indiana University 5-4 in a dual at King Saturday afternoon. The Tornado opened up the match with two doubles wins but fell in four singles matches as Southern Indiana would walk away with the win.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s tennis team defeated Erskine College in their Conference Carolinas home opener. The Tornado took down the Flying Fleet with a final score of 8-1 in the match.

    BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s tennis team jumped out of Conference Carolinas play to face NCAA Division I foe UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs earned the doubles points and took the first four singles matches before Jannis Walter earned a win at No. 5 singles, however, King fell 6-1.

    CELMSON, S.C. – The King University men's tennis team opened up Conference Carolinas play against Southern Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon in Clemson, S.C. The Tornado eased past the Warriors posting an 8-1 victory.
