King falls to Carson-Newman in spring opener

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team opened the spring season in Knoxville against Carson-Newman University. Ross Edgar took a win, but that was it as the Eagles won the dual 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Edgar and Nathan Snow played a tight No. 3 doubles match against Joshua Ott and Gabriel Dabdab, but fell 6-3.
  • The Eagles also won the top two flights to take the doubles point.
  • In singles play, Edgar defeated Daniel Cox 6-3, 6-1 at the third flight.
  • However, Carson-Newman won the other five singles matches to take the dual 6-1.

  • King hosts Bluefield College on Saturday. The dual is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
  • Carson-Newman travels to Austin Peay University on Friday.
