King finishes 9th at CC Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The King University men's track & field team finished ninth at the Conference Carolinas Championships. TJ McMurray and Blaine Metcalf each scored in two events for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Kyle Hart crossed the finish line in the mile with a time of 4:34.71 to take fifth.
  • Also in the mile, Jesus Pacheco finished seventh with a time of 4:36.44.
  • Clathton Henfield finished eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 53.57 seconds.
  • In the 800 meters, Brandon Bejarano finished 10th with a time of 2:02.04.
  • Metcalf finished seventh in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:14.47.
  • Later in the day, Metcalf finished seventh with a 5000-meter time of 16:15.70.
  • The 4x400 meter relay team of Henfield, Bejarano, Pacheco and Noah Thomas finished eighth with a time of 3:40.09.
  • McMurray posted a mark of 14.96 meters in the weight throw, finishing fifth.
  • McMurray finished seventh in the shot put with a mark of 13.66 meters.

FOR THE FOES

  • The University of Mount Olive won the conference title while Limestone College finished second.
