BRISTOL, Tenn. – Men's volleyball season is right around the corner, and one Tornado received some recognition prior to the season. Off the Block announced their Preseason All-American teams and King University's Jeff Sprayberry earned honorable mention recognition.

Sprayberry was one of two players from Conference Carolinas to earn recognition from Off the Block as he was joined by Vasilis Mandilaris of Barton College.

The junior from Oak Forest, Ill., was selected Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference in 2017. He led the league with 369 kills, averaging 3.48 kills per set. His attack percentage of .259 also ranked 10th in the conference and he has had 13 matches where he has hit better than .300 this season. Nationally, Sprayberry ranks 16th in kills per set, 52nd in attack percentage and 20th in points per set.

He posted his season best of 27 kills twice, first against Eastern Mennonite University where he hit .477 and against at the University of Mount Olive where he hit .438. The outside hitter also added two double-doubles on the season, posting a season-high 12 digs at Eastern Mennonite.

The Tornado open the season on January 5 when they travel to take on UCLA.
