Two Tornado named academic all-conference

Academic All-Conference Carolinas

BRISTOL, Tenn. – On the eve of the beginning of the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship, the league handed out their academic awards. Two members of the conference champion King University men's volleyball team were recognized as academic all-conference.

Ryan DeLong and Chandler Christy both earned academic all-conference honors. DeLong carries a 3.52 GPA, and ranks third on the team with 115 digs this season. He averages 1.72 digs per set, having playing in 67 sets this season. Christy carries a 3.77 GPA and has appeared in seven sets. In that time he has handed out 39 assists.

Conference Carolinas academic all-conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.

The Tornado are the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship and host eighth seed Lees-McRae College on Tuesday night in the Student Center Complex at 6:30 p.m.
