Christy selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Senior setter Chandler Christy had a big weekend for the King University men's volleyball team, earning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors. Christy led the Tornado to a pair of wins as King earned a share of their third straight Conference Carolinas regular season title.

Christy started with 43 assists and eight digs as King defeated Barton College 3-1 on Friday night, ending the Bulldogs 14-match winning streak. The Yucaipa, Calif., native followed that with his first career double-double in a win over the University Mount Olive. In the contest, he posted 42 assists and added a career-high 10 digs. For the week he averaged 10.6 assists and 2.25 digs per set.

This marks the first time in his career that Christy has been selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week.

King will be the second seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship and host seventh seeded Emmanuel College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in a quarterfinal match.
