BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship starts on Saturday, and the league announced their academic all-conference honorees on Friday. The King University men's volleyball team had two members recognized.
Chandler Christy and Sean Kohlhase were both named to the team as the own grade point averages of 3.72 and 3.83, respectively. Christy ranks seventh in the league with an average of 8.93 assists per set and posted his first career double-double last weekend. Kohlhase has paced the Tornado offense with an average of 3.35 kills per set this season and an attack percentage of .264.
The Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference teams are comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
King is the second seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship and hosts seventh seed Emmanuel College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center Complex.
