BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced their academic all-conference performers for cross country, leading up to the conference championship this weekend. King University had five runners honored, four from the men's team and one from the women's team.
On the men's side, Tyler Edwards, Morgan Greene, Daniel Kovalchick and Charles Ramos earned honors. Kovalchick owns a 3.48 GPA and ran a personal best 8k time of 27:59.06 earlier this season at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational. Greene's best time also came at Lenoir-Rhyne, finishing in 27:42.10. He carries a 4.0 GPA. Edwards has a GPA of 3.48 and his best time of the season, 28:48.52 came at the Greater Louisville Classic. Ramos rounds out the group with a 3.35 GPA. His fastest time of the season, 27:05.08 came at the Greater Louisville Classic.
On the women's side, Hannah Kusmierz has had a pair of good weeks leading into the conference championship. She set a personal record each of the last two weeks, including a 5k time of 19:23 last week at the Queen City Invitational. The week before she was selected Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week with a time of 20:21.12. She carries a GPA of 4.0.
The Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship is scheduled for Friday in Concord, N.C. The women's race will start at 3:00 p.m. and the men follow at 4:00 p.m.
