King takes ninth at conference championship

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team finished ninth at the Conference Carolinas Championship. Blaine Metcalf led the Tornado with a 35th place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Metcalf was the first Tornado to cross the tape, finishing in 28:28.1.
  • Justin Stewart wasn't far behind with a time of 28:37.8.
  • Coming next was Kade McDonald and Braydon Ragsdale. McDonald finished in 30:01.0 and Ragsdale finished in 30:06.4.
  • Brandon Bejarano wasn't far behind with a time of 30:25.1.
  • Tyler Edwards rounded out the team with a time of 31:07.3.

FOR THE FOES

  • The University of Mount Olive finished first while Lees-McRae College finished second and Emmanuel College took third.
  • Mount Olive had the top 11 finishers, including individual champion Christian Duran who finished in 26:07.7.
