BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University cross country and track & field coach Nathan Meeuwenberg as announced the addition of Brandon Ellis to his staff. Ellis will be an assistant for the cross country and track & field teams following a career at Milligan College.
"Brandon has demonstrated superior work ethic and enthusiasm to coach athletes," Meeuwenberg said. "He is a welcomed addition to the staff, and I am excited to see him raise the competitive level of the team."
Ellis was a captain of the cross country and track & field teams at Milligan College. In that time he was a three-time NAIA All-American and the 2017 Milligan College Athlete of the Year. He also was a seven-time NAIA National Championships qualifier and 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Runner of the Year.
"King University has a rich tradition in cross country and track & field," Ellis said. "I am excited to help the program achieve its full potential and deeply grateful for this opportunity. Go Tornado!"
Following his graduation, Ellis worked in community relations for the international justice mission in Gulu, Uganda. While there he planned and implemented numerous community outreach events and interviewed clients and staff for publications. When he returned to the States, Ellis most recently worked as an insurance agent at the Mackie Financial Group in Johnson City, Tenn.
Ellis graduated from Milligan in 2017 with a Bachelor of History and Bachelor of Business Administration in Legal Studies.
