Brokering's big week leads to Conference Carolinas POW honor

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kay Brokering led the King University softball team to a 4-0 week last week, hitting .600 and driving in six runs. That effort earned her Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The Shelbyville, Ind., native hit .600 with an on base percentage of .733 and slugging percentage of 1.100 for the Tornado last week. In the game two win over Converse College she went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and drove in two. She capped the week with a two-run home run that broke a tie with the University of Mount Olive in the bottom of the sixth inning. That was her only hit of the game as she walked her previous two at bats. In the week she scored five runs and drove in six, ripping a pair of doubles and a home run.

Brokering and the Tornado take on Erskine College on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the King Softball Field. The Tornado then host Emmanuel College on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
