Lady Tornado holds onto NCAA DII rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College kept seven Top-100 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Stat Rankings, the national office released.

Ashley Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) posted three of the seven which included the No. 24 spot in free-throw percentage at 85.1, up a spot from a week ago. She also had the No. 77 ranking in field-goal percentage at 47.9 and No. 79 in scoring with 16.5 points per game.

Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) was up one place to No. 52 in steals per game with 2.5.

A 73.9 free-throw percentage had the Lady Tornado at No. 37. King's 14.6 assists per game was ranked No. 70 while a 9.8 steals per game mark was No. 85.

Next for King will be the NCAA Division II Independent Tournament hosted by the University of the District of Columbia from Feb. 25 to 27. The Lady Tornado will take a 9-15 record to the event. First for King will be a 4 p.m. rematch against host District of Columbia. The Lady Tornado suffered two losses against District of Columbia, 66-62 and 70-57, this season.
