King collects six Top-100 NCAA DII Women's Basketball stat rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College's Ashley Deans climbed higher in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball stat report with a Top-25 ranking, as the rankings were released by the national office.

Deans, a senior forward, and an 88.1 free throw percentage was ranked No. 23. Last week she was No. 35 nationally. In three games last week Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) went 17-for-19 at the line. She also moved up in the points per game average to No. 92, a 27-spot climb, with a scoring average of 16.1.

Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) had two Top-100 rankings for a second straight week. She was No. 88 in assists per game and No. 97 in steals per game.

King went 36-for-47 at the free throw line last week which helped the team move to No. 47 in free throw percentage. The Lady Tornado's 73.4 percentage helped the team into the Top-50 from No. 55 a week ago. King also added the No. 80 spot in assists per game with 14.5.

Next on the schedule for King, at 4-13 on the season, will be a trip to Salem International (W.Va.) University for a 2 p.m. contest.
