BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kori West of the King University women's basketball team posted two double-doubles a week ago and hit a game-winner for the Tornado. All of that led her to being selected Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Player of the Week.

West posted two more double-doubles this week, running her season total to six, including five straight. She started the week with 11 points and 14 rebounds in a tight defeat to 2018 Elite Eight qualifier Carson-Newman University.

The Shelby, N.C., native topped that with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a win at Newberry as King handed the Wolves their first defeat of the year. In a tie game, West knocked down an 18-foot jump shot with 1.3 seconds remaining to put the Tornado ahead. West added eight blocks on the week, including five against Carson-Newman. For the week she averaged 15.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game.

The Tornado take on Belmont Abbey College at 12:30 on Tuesday in the Student Center Complex before nearly two weeks off when they travel to UVa-Wise on December 29.
