Salomon, West sweep Conference Carolinas Weekly Awards

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University swept the final Conference Carolinas Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday. Mike Salomon took home honors for the men and Kori West for the women.

Salomon poured in a career-high 24 points, including six three-point baskets in King's road win at the University of Southern Indiana. In the contest he shot 57.1 percent from the floor, including a 54.5 three-point field goal percentage. He added five rebounds in the contest. His previous career-high of 21 came twice, the last in February of last season against Emmanuel College.

West posted her seventh double-double of the season as King defeated UVa-Wise on the road. She scored 23 points, 10 coming in the first quarter. West added 13 rebounds and two assists in the contest. She shot 62.5 percent from the floor, helping King to the win.

Both teams will be in action again on Wednesday when they travel to Limestone College. The women tipoff at 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:30 p.m.
