Tornado lead Agnes McAmis after first round

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The King University women's golf team continued their stellar play this spring by shooting a 311 in the first round of the Agnes McAmis Memorial hosted by Tusculum College. With that score, the Tornado lead the tournament by seven strokes with one round remaining. Both Elizabeth Swallow and Samantha Taylor are in the top-10 after the first round.

Swallow carded a two-over 74 in the first round, landing her in second place, only two shot behind Caitlin Starrs of Wingate University who leads the tournament. Taylor wasn't far behind as she sits in sixth place after shooting a 77 in the first round.

Anna Walker is next for King as her opening round lands her in 13th place with one round remaining. Cortnee Young and Nicola Robertson rounded out the team with scores of 81 and 85 respectively.

The Tornado lead the tournament with a 311 after the first round while Carson-Newman University is in second with a first round of 318. Lander University is third at 320 and Converse College is fourth at 322.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday at the Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn.
