Tornado in 4th after Wingate Intercollegiate first round

MONROE, N.C. – The King University women's golf team played round one at the Wingate Intercollegiate on Monday, shooting a 324. The Tornado are in a three way tie for fourth place and were led by Daphne Chang who is tied for fifth individually.

LOCATION: Rolling Hills Country Club; Monroe, N.C.
COURSE DETAILS: 5922 yards; par 72


  • Chang had the best score for the Tornado on the day, shooting a 78.
  • Emilie Olstad came in next for King, carding an 80 that is tied for 11th overall.
  • Not far behind was Fiona Hebbel who shot an 82.
  • Samantha Taylor had a score of 84 in round one and rounding out the team was Nicola Robertson, shooting an 87.


  • Tusculum College is leading the tournament after day one with a score of 317, followed by Wingate University who shot a 321.
  • Individually, Katie Tomassoni is in the lead, carding a score of 75 in the first round. Abbey Hartsell of Lenoir-Ryne University is second, shooting 76.


  • The tournament concludes on Tuesday at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, N.C.
