Gardiner, Nataf post top-five finishes to lead King at Converse Invite

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The King University women's golf team opened the season with a fifth place finish as the Converse Spring Invitational where the Tornado shot 685. Sasha Gardiner and Roxane Nataf led the Tornado with top-five finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gardiner posted a tournament score of 160 following her second round of 81, giving her a fourth place finish.
  • Nataf finished fifth after her second round of 83 gave her a tournament total of 161.
  • Autumn Bergendahl carded a 91 in the second round to finish her tournament with a score of 183.
  • Shelby Zeiter and Morgan Powers closed the tournament with rounds of 101 and 102, respectively. Zeiter posted a tournament score of 187 while Powers finished at 188.

FOR THE FOES

  • Newberry College won the tournament with a score of 648 while Coker College finished second at 658.
  • Taylor Lance of Newberry was the individual champion with a score of 153.

UP NEXT

  • King returns to the course on Monday and Tuesday at the Battle at Hilton Head Island. The tournament will be played at the Arthur Hill Course at the Palmetto Dunes Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.
