Nataf finishes fifth, King takes 8th at conference championship

HARTWELL, Ga. – The King University women's golf team finished eighth at the Conference Carolinas Championship with a score of 997. Roxane Nataf led the way with a fifth place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Nataf improved every round, improving on an opening round of 79 with a 76 in the second round.
  • She closed the tournament with a round of 75 to finish with a stroke total of 230 and a fifth place finish.
  • Sasha Gardiner finished next for the Tornado, finishing with two rounds of 82 after her opening with an 85. She finished with a stroke total of 249.
  • Morgan Powers finished with a score of 257 following her final round of 85. She shot 84 in the first round and 88 in the second round.
  • Shelby Zeiter finished with a round of 92 after rounds of 90 and 83 in the first two rounds, respectively. She finish with a tournament total of 265.
  • Autumn Bergendahl shot 87 in the first round, was disqualified in the second round before carding a 178 in the final round.

FOR THE FOES

  • Limestone College won the tournament with a score of 909 while the University of Mount Olive finish second at 956 and Erskine College took third at 959.
  • Pilar Martinez of Limestone won the individual title by one stroke with a score of 224.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Nataf garnered all-tournament team accolades with the top five finish.
  • She also becomes the first Tornado to finish in the top five since Nicola Robertson won the tournament in 2017.
