One point difference ends Morgan's run at NCAA

KEARNEY, Neb. - King College's Frank Morgan saw his run at the 2011 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championship come to an end late Friday in the wrestleback draw.

Morgan, a junior from Maynardsville, Tenn., was defeated by the University of Findlay's Dan Stevenson in a nip and tuck 3-2 decision at 197-pounds. Stevenson moved on to the final eight and secured All-American status.

At the NCAA Championship Morgan started Friday with a 4-2 win before a 4-3 setback sent him to the wrestleback draw.

This was the third national appearance for Morgan, the first two were at the NAIA Championship in 2008 and 2009.

Thanks to the efforts of Morgan and Brandon Tressler (Orlando, Fla.) King scored 3.5 points which put the Tornado in a tie for 30th next to Central Missouri in the program's first year as a NCAA Division II member.
