Morgan jumps into NCAA ranking

EDMOND, Okla. - King College junior Frank Morgan moved to No. 3 in the newest NCAA Division II wrestling ranking in the 197-pound standings, released by the organization.

Morgan (Maynardsville, Tenn.) used a win in the NCAA Division II Super Region 197-pound championship to move up to No. 3 in this ranking after not being in the Top-8 the previous ranking. Morgan has an overall record of 18-3 this season with a 12-1 mark against NCAA Division II wrestlers. Two of his three losses were against NCAA Division I foes and he has won 14 straight matches.

He will travel to the 2011 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship March 11-12 in Kearney, Neb. Morgan and teammate Brandon Tressler (Orlando, Fla.) will be a part of the field. Tressler qualified as the fourth-place finisher at the super region event in the 184-pound bracket.
