BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team continues to receive votes in the first National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) poll. In the first regional rankings, the Tornado are ranked third in Super Region II.
King received three votes in the NWCA National Poll and is one of five South Atlantic Conference Carolinas schools mentioned in the poll. Newberry College is ranked 12th while Limestone College, Queens University and Belmont Abbey College are all receiving votes along with the Tornado.
Individually, Landon Goforth is ranked 10th nationally at 149 pounds for King.
In the regional rankings, King is third behind Newberry College and Limestone College. Individually, King has eight wrestlers ranked in the region's top six.
Goforth and Kody Eichlin lead the individual rankings as they are both ranked first at 149 and 174 pounds, respectively. Joey Mammolenti and Elijah Seay are each ranked second, Mammolenti at 184 pounds and Seay at 197 pounds.
There is a trio of Tornado ranked fourth in their weight class, starting with Cory Collins at 157 pounds. Matthew Danner is ranked fourth 165 pounds and Cade Ridley is fourth at 285 pounds. Rylee Billings rounds out the individual rankings as he is ranked fifth at 125 pounds.
