BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the fourth NWCA rankings of the season, the King University men's wrestling team continues to receive votes in the poll. Elijah Seay stays in the rankings at 197 pounds.
The Tornado are 1-0 on the season and received six votes in the poll. King is one of two South Atlantic Conference Carolinas member schools to receive votes. Newberry College received nine votes in the latest poll.
Seay helped the Tornado comeback to defeat Emmanuel College on Monday. In the dual, he pinned Travis Voelker in 1:35, pulling King within 24-19 of the Lions. Last month he took fifth at the Midwest Classic in December and owns an 8-3 record on the season. At the Midwest Classic, he reached the semifinals with a victory over second-ranked Konnor Schmidt of Western Colorado. Earlier in the season he finished second at the Georgia Open.
Seay and the Tornado return to action on Saturday when they travel to the Coker Duals. King will wrestle in four duals started at 8:00 a.m. in Hartsville, S.C.
