NEWBERRY, S.C. – The King University men's wrestling team went on the road to take on regional rival Newberry College. The Wolves jumped ahead early, and the Tornado couldn't catch up as they fell 31-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Newberry got off to a good start with a major decision at 125 pounds.
  • The Wolves later took a 14-0 lead following a pair of decisions and another major decision.
  • The Tornado deficit continued to grow following a technical fall at 157 pounds and forfeit at 165 pounds.
  • Kody Eichlin then came up with a 6-1 decision at 174 pounds over Joey Rocca, getting the Tornado on the board.
  • Following a decision for Newberry, eighth-ranked Elijah Seay earned a 15-0 technical fall over Dylan Eaton at 197 pounds.
  • However, the Wolves took the final match to win the dual 31-8.
