Seay, Eichlin compete at NCAA DII Wrestling Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The King University men's wrestling team sent two individuals to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships for the third straight year. However, Elijah Seay or Kody Eichlin weren't able to advance to the second day as they fell against ranked opponents on Friday.

LOCATION: The Wolstein Center; Cleveland, Ohio


  • Seay entered the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships for the first time as he was ranked seventh in the nation at 197 pounds.
  • However, he dropped his first match to Colton Dull of Millersville University.
  • Later in the day, he bounced back to pin third-ranked Levi Niebauer of Pitt.-Johnstown in 5:42 to stay alive in the consolation bracket.
  • Nevertheless, Seay fell to 10th-ranked Nick Baumler of Upper Iowa University 5-2 in his next match to end his weekend.
  • At 174 pounds, Eichlin started his day with a defeat against second-ranked Connor Craig of Wheeling Jesuit University.
  • He then dropped his next match, ending his first appearance in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships.
