BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following the conclusion of the NCAA Super Region II Championships, the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas (SACC) held a banquet to recognize their all-conference performers. Rylee Billings, Elijah Seay and Cade Ridley all earned second team honors for the King University men's wrestling team.
Billings has had a great sophomore season at 125 pounds for the Tornado. He qualified for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships for the first time, going 3-1 to take third on Saturday. On the season, Billings is 22-10 with four pins, five major decisions and three technical falls. In SAAC competition, Billings won all six of his matches.
Seay earns All-SACC for the second straight year at 197 pounds and has qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships for the second consecutive season. On Saturday, Seay went 3-1 on the NCAA Super Region II Championships to finish third and qualify for the national championships. On the season, the senior is 18-8 with nine pins, one major decision and four technical falls. Seay won all four of his SACC matches this season.
At 285 pounds, Ridley garners All-SACC honors for the first time. He has had a solid sophomore campaign, earning a spot in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships with a third place finish on Saturday at the NCAA Super Region II Championships with a 3-1 record. On the season, Ridley is 14-11 with seven pins. In SACC competition, Ridley went 4-2 with two pins.
The trio will compete at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships on March 13-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
