King starts NCCAA Women's Soccer with defeat against No. 1 Spring Arbor

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - King College started the 2010 NCCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Championship with a 3-1 setback against top seed Spring Arbor (Mich.) University Wednesday.

The Lady Tornado, now at 7-13, will play Thursday at 5 p.m. with the opponent to be determined.

King's lone goal was booted home by Hannah Shankle (Bristol, Va.) in the first half.

For Spring Arbor, Kristin Abbott, Maegan Smith and Jessica Clarke each scored a goal.

Spring Arbor, at 17-5-1, will play Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in a semifinal contest.
